Giving Library

Redesigning philanthropic giving

In the world of non-profits, getting funding from large philanthropies is a big deal. Traditionally, this involves travelling and presenting to funding boards in the various cities they are located—an expensive, time-consuming process. The Laura & John Arnold Foundation envisioned Giving Library as a directory of non-profits and charities where they could upload video interviews and answer the kinds of questions they would be asked if they were meeting these philanthropies face-to-face, saving time and money. However, the initial site design and information architecture failed to make this clear.

I was brought in to provide a new IA and design that would better emphasize categories, highlight contact information, encourage more user views and ratings, and accentuate the call to action. And all of this in three weeks time so development of the backend wouldn’t be delayed.

Thanks so much for getting us this far. Everyone LOVES the wireframes. You’ve taken our project to “great”.
